Megan has worked in Maine politics for nearly ten years and all of her profession career, having served in many roles for staff, elected officials (including former Secretary of State Charlie Summers), in-house with the Maine Association of REALTORS®, legislative specialist at Pierce Atwood LLP providing lobbying services and support to Pierce Atwood’s government relations clients and most recently senior government relations specialist at the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.  Megan loves Maine and has a passion for politics and policy.

While in college she began working in the political arena working on various campaigns and in various capacities.  Following graduation, she continued to serve as a campaign team member and realized she was not only interested in politics, but politics along with policy were a passion.

Megan began her political career as the Director of Communications for former Secretary of State, Charlie Summers, MEMA’s current President and CEO. Megan was responsible for assisting in speech writing, presentations for Department initiatives, as well as a representative from the Department to media representatives. From there Megan went on to work for the Maine Association of Realtors and then onto Pierce Atwood Law Firm. In both capacities serving as a lobbyist and government relations professional.

Most recently, Megan was Senior Government Relations Specialist at the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, the state’s most influential business advocate. Megan’s specific focus with the Chamber is related to education and workforce development, but certainly not limited to those areas. At the Chamber she worked with the Chamber’s business members, a network of approximately 5,000 companies statewide to provide support, access, advocacy, and assistance efforts on behalf of their interests before the legislature and regulatory agencies, and through conferences, seminars, and affiliated programs.

Megan has great experience working with the Maine State Legislature and a familiarity with the legislative and regulatory processes.

Megan looks forward to the challenges and the exciting times that are ahead of our industry and Maine’s energy future.
