Who is MEMA?
The Maine Energy Marketers Association (MEMA) is a non-profit 501c (6) trade association representing over 300 members that employ over 8,000 people who work in the energy delivery and service industry and its dovetailing associates. MEMA Regular Members supply heating oil, gasoline, biofuel, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane, lubricants, and alternative energy products at retail and wholesale levels. MEMA Associate Members supply fuel handling, transportation equipment, HVAC, and additional services. MEMA is also pleased to be the Association of Choice for many convenience stores in Maine.
What does MEMA do?
On behalf of the membership, MEMA provides advocacy, education, and leadership at local, regional, state, and national levels and has proudly represented Maine's energy marketers since 1954.
What is an Energy Marketer?
Energy Marketers encompass a wide range of commercial businesses, from wholesalers to retailers that store and distribute conventional, alternative, and renewable vehicle fuels, heating fuels, and lubricants for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial uses.

Who can become a member?
- All energy marketers that sell heating oil, gasoline, biofuel, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane, lubricants, and alternative energy products at retail levels
- All energy marketers that supply fuel handling, transportation equipment, HVAC, and additional services
- All energy marketers that sell heating oil, gasoline, biofuel, diesel fuel, kerosene, propane, lubricants, and alternative energy products at wholesale levels
- All companies that primarily sell motor fuels, i.e., convenience stores
- All companies that provide essential services to the energy industry, e.g. Accounting, Banking, Marketing, Advertising, etc.

What is MTEC?
MEMA Technical Education Center (MTEC) is the state's leading non-profit 501c(3) technical training facility that provides heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) training and certification. MTEC is overseen by an all-volunteer Education Committee comprised of business owners and associates currently working in the industry. MTEC curriculums continually evolve to reflect relevant trends, advancements, and industry best practices, ensuring your employees possess the qualifications necessary to provide unsurpassed service to your customers.
